Oats normally grow with an inedible hull that must be removed before rolling or milling. However, hulless oats naturally grow without a hull, so no dehulling is necessary. This allows Second Spring to sprout the whole grain, keeping all the fibre and protein intact. After sprouting and drying, they mill the whole hulless oat kernel, resulting in a nutritious, 100% whole grain flour.
